Lizia ("we," "our," or "us") is a pregnancy companion mobile application operated by Americord Registry LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Lizia mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using Lizia, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Pregnancy details: Your estimated due date, which is used to personalize your experience and provide relevant weekly content.
• Tracking data: Kick counts, contraction timings, appointment details, breathing session records, and hospital bag checklist progress that you voluntarily enter.
• Photos: Bump photos you choose to upload for your personal pregnancy timeline.
• Community content: Posts, comments, and reactions you share in the Birth Club community, including any content you choose to post anonymously.
• Profile information: Optional profile photo and any updates you make to your account details.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: Push notification tokens (if you opt in to notifications), device type, and operating system version.
• Usage data: Basic app activity data such as screens viewed and features used, collected to improve the app experience.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect precise location data.
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, or other personal device data.
• We do not use tracking technologies for advertising purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Lizia app and its features.
• Personalize your pregnancy timeline and deliver relevant weekly content based on your due date.
• Enable community features such as the Birth Club and allow you to interact with other users.
• Send push notifications you have opted in to receive (such as weekly pregnancy updates or community activity).
• Detect whether you are an existing Americord client to provide you with tailored content and access to the Americord Parents Club.
• Respond to your requests, questions, or feedback.
• Monitor and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With Americord Registry LLC: As Lizia is operated by Americord, your email address may be used to verify your Americord client status and to create or update your contact record in Americord's systems (such as HubSpot) for the purpose of providing you with relevant cord blood banking information. Americord will not share your information with third-party marketing organizations.
• Community content: Posts and comments you share in the Birth Club are visible to other users of the same birth club. Anonymous posts do not display your name, but your display name is shown on non-anonymous posts.
• Service providers: We may share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the app (such as email delivery services), bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or other legal process.
• Safety: We may disclose information to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lizia, our users, or the public.

5. Advertising

Lizia does not display third-party advertisements. You will never see ads from outside advertisers in the app.

The app may display informational content from Americord, our parent company and trusted partner, related to cord blood and tissue banking services. This content is clearly identified and is not targeted advertising based on your personal data. You can opt out of seeing Americord promotional content in your Profile settings.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
• All API communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• Authentication uses signed JWT tokens — your session credentials are never sent as plain text headers.
• Rate limiting is applied to prevent abuse of all endpoints.
• User-generated content is sanitized to prevent injection attacks.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Community posts and comments you have made may remain visible after account deletion but will be disassociated from your identity.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

• Access and update: You can view and update your profile information at any time through the app's Profile screen.
• Notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications through your device settings or the app.
• Americord content: You can opt out of seeing Americord promotional content in the app through the toggle in your Profile settings.
• Delete your account: You may request account deletion by contacting us at the email below.
• Data portability: You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.

9. Children's Privacy

Lizia is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the app or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
